- As long as it is drawn after everything behind it (unlike many things
- in a Doom engine, which tends to operate in reverse) the alpha effect
- and others like it can be used pretty much anywhere.

- Variable alpha is possible, but coloured variable alpha is beginning to
- get kind of ambitious. We want to keep things speedy too. :)

- Yes, this is a reachable goal. Both Doom and Heretic have their own variations
- on this trick.
